Welcome to Lutheran Church of Our Savior!
My name is Mike Lang, and I have the honor of serving the congregation here at LCOS. Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about me.
I grew up on a tobacco farm near Greenville, North Carolina, alongside two siblings and surrounded by extended family. After graduating high school, I spent several years working in both the construction and restaurant industries. During this time, I discerned God’s call to ministry and recognized a God‑given ability to talk with anyone and connect with people from all walks of life. With continued guidance and encouragement from God, my desire to share God’s love grew into a clear vocational calling.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mount Olive in 2016, followed by my Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary at Lenoir‑Rhyne University in 2021, while the seminary was still located in Columbia, South Carolina. My ministry experience includes serving at Bethel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, North Carolina, as well as completing a year‑long Clinical Pastoral Education residency as a Chaplain Resident at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the congregation and the Jacksonville community. I warmly invite you to visit us and look forward to meeting you.
